Sightings!

Efforts are well under way to find Zoe! Some good fliering has gotten its start (more needed, of course!) so check the map to see where. Then if you are able to flier, you can see what areas don't need to be covered because they already were fliered.

And we are very encouraged by sightings that have started to come in, which have been the results of Craigslist and fliering as well as canvassing while both fliering & checking out existing sightings. Earlier this evening, Debbie (Zoe's mom) described the sightings that had come in this way:

- According to a voice mail this evening, one of my neighbors spotted Zoe around Forrester Blvd near the townhouse and condos either Sunday evening or Monday. She doesn't remember which. She only remembers that is was drizzling out. I wasn't able to get any further information since she didn't leave her name or phone number. She called me because of the flyers we left in all of our immediate neighbors mailboxes. She stated that she was pretty sure it was Zoe because it looked just like a "most black sheep dog."

- We received an e-mail in from the Craig's List posting stating that Zoe had been seen in the office complex on Traford Lane behind the Cardinal Forest Shopping Center. The shopping center is at the intersection of Old Keene Mill and Rolling Road. She feeds a feral cat in the area twice a day. Zoe would not come to her and was very scared. When Cyndie tried to approach Zoe she ran along the fenceline of the church next to the office complex and toward Carrleigh Parkway. Cyndie wasn't able to determine which way Zoe went. When I spoke to some construction workers across the street from the church, they stated that they didn't see a dog come by. Cyndie is positive that it was Zoe from the photos we have posted.

- While canvassing the area we spoke to Eleanor at the church next to Embassy Car Wash on Rolling Road. She stated that she saw a black dog with a white face run across Old Keene Mill Road from the Shell Station to the 7-11. She stated that this was while she was driving her son to school this morning.

- While canvassing the area, Gina (Debbie's daughter) spoke to some young gentlemen walking in the area. They stated that they saw Zoe cross the street from the Wachovia Bank. This is at the same Old Keene Mill Road and Rolling Road intersection.

- I received two more calls later in the evening. Both of the sightings were for Monday evening near the corner of Forrester Blvd and Rolling Road. This is in the same area. One of the ladies who called in even volunteered to help me put up posters in her area this morning. (This was added from an email from Debbie early Wednesday morning. Also see the Comments for another sighting!)

And then just now (after 11pm Tuesday), volunteer Nadene provided this report after having gone to the sighting areas after work: We talked with many people and we spent about 5 hours out there tonight. She has been seen all day long in that area so it is important to continue to flyer in the area. While we were out, Terri was approached by a man who had just seen her! We were quickly met by Gina but we were unable to locate her; we were inches away!

We're anxious to see what tomorrow brings!

  1. My husband thinks he saw Zoe this morning (10/20 approx. 7:15 AM) at the corner of Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill, in the 7-11 parking lot. He says she was trotting south down Rolling Road.

Good luck, we'll keep our eyes peeled!

If you or your husband see Zoe again, please let us know. If you're interested in joining the effort to bring her home, we'd love to have your help!
