  1. My partner and I received an email last Thursday regarding Zoe. We both forwarded emails to other local "dog people" and discussed the situation at length. Due to work schedules, our first day off was today (Sunday) and we had already decided to participate this afternoon in the search. Last night when I got home, Deb told me she had some really good news: Zoe had been found! We both cried ! See, our beloved Shadow was lost for 17 long hours on the evening of July 3, 2005, and we were lucky enough to get her back. It is the WORST thing that a person can go through (not to say having a missing child wouldn't be WORSE than a missing dog - I can't even begin to imagine what that would be like and I wish so bad that stuff like that wouldn't happen). A group of our neighbors stopped what they were doing on the 4th of July to help search for our six month old puppy who was somewhere out there in the Cardinal Forest/West Springfield area scared and alone. She had run off when fireworks in a yard next to ours terrified her. We probably would not have this amazing dog today if it wasn't for the compassion of these incredible people.
So...we are extremely happy that you have your precious pup back and the story has a happy ending. We may complain about the traffic here or the people who hurriedly fly past us in the grocery store to get ahead of us in line or how we may live next to a family for years before you ever speak to each other, but when we hear stories like this, it reminds us that we are all human beings who need each other and the majority of us are good solid people put on this earth to make a positive difference.
Congrats and give her a big kiss for us!
